Irish citizenship for my children

hello, I just got added to the foreign births registry due to my grandfather being born in Ireland. I was hoping that beco an Irish citizen via FBR would give my children the chance to become Irish citizens through the same process. Google’s AI says that the only way that could have happened is if my children were born after I was registered.

Is this true? If so, I am very sad.

Possible bug for wandering adventurers

Hi! I have been offered two mercenary contracts while playing as a wandering adventure. Upon saying “yes,” I don’t see any allied armies… just the hostile ones. I’m new to playing as an adventurer. It could be just that I have contracted with the wrong people, but is there any way this could be an AtE bug?

Either way, thanks for making a great mod!

male leads in romantasy stories

I’m genuinely curious about something. I am by no means a romantasy aficionado, but I have read several and noticed a bit of a pattern in the male leads. In addition to being physically strong and deeply emotional, which I can appreciate the attractive qualities, they also tend to be very dominating of their female lov interests. Sometimes, often even, their wishes are obeyed.

What I am wondering, as a man attracted to women, is if people who are attracted to men find this idea of being ordered around by a man attractive?

Speaking just for myself, I would never want to be that guy and if I had a partner who wanted me to take charge of her, make important decisions for her, and absolutely refuse to allow her to take agency for herself… I would be really turned off by that. Why do you think this seems to be a part of what is often included in a male lead in a romantasy?

Getting middle schoolers to take choir

Hi! I’m curious if anyone has effective strategies to get middle schoolers to switch from classroom music to choir. Even better if it’s boys. My school has strong music programs: choir, band and orchestra. Kids who don’t want any of those options sign up for classroom music. It’s an important option for some kids. However, since COVID, my boys have been signing up for classroom music at too high a rate. I thought it would self correct. It really hasn’t. There are many boys who would thrive in choir in my classroom music classes.

When I taught elementary music, the formula for getting kids into choir was simple.

  1. Notice who was having fun in music class.

  2. Tell them I think they would do great in choir and watch them light up like a candle.

  3. Ask them if I can email their parents to see if it works in their schedule to participate.

  4. Win.

In middle school, this strategy results almost always in kids saying no. They are embarrassed about being good at something and don’t want to try something new. Has anyone had repeated success at getting middle school students to switch to choir from classroom music?
