Minsan ba...

Minsan ba feeling mo napagiiwanan ka na? Nang panahon, career or buhay? Minsan ba sumasagi sa isip mo bakit parang walang nangyari?

For context, nakapagmigrate kami nung 2018. Maganda takbo ng career ko sa pinas. I see career progression in the future. Pero mula pagmigrate namin, di ako makapasok sa same field na career ko dati so feeling ko napagiiwanan na ako. Gusto ko makabalik kaso di ako nabibigyan ng chance. Though, nakabili na rin kami ng bahay dito. 2 healthy kids. I work in a job I do not see a career. Tried upskilling pero wala pa rin. Nalulungkot ako kasi nasa 2nd half na tayo ng life, pero ang dami ko gusto marating. Para naman sa pamilya ko yung hjnahangad ko. Bakit ganun?

Pasay OVR ticket

I have unsettled OVR ticket I needed to pay. Wala na akong oras magpunta sa double dragon plaza. Unfortunately, officers in vest caught me while driving insisting I am disregarding traffic sign despite light is still amber and turning left somewhere malapit sa MOA. I know it might be a little different from where I am but for me, I did not do anything wrong. Sadly enough, I see other cars at natyempuhan. I visited Philippines for a short while and flight is in next two days. Wala ako maabisuhan. Then holiday pa yung incoming Monday. How can I pay the fine? I visited Pasay website and I do not see an option to pay there. LTMS portal is also negative. I drove using my international driver license which in the eye of the law, still valid when it happenes. So no PhDL ako. Anyone able to help me direct how to pay?

Best option for budget server

Hello everyone!

Is there anyone here successfully managed to fit in 2x3.5HDD on HP Prodesk, Lenovo Thinkcentre or Dell Optiplex SFF workstation? I am seeing a lot of these on my local marketplace and ebay. Were you able to run it without issues?

On the other hand, those who have tiny PC's, how did you managed adding storage? Does using DAS connected via USB did not give you any issues? Random disconnects? Does it have spin down on idle.

Both of these enterprise machine sells at most identical or close price range. Looking for more options here.

Nearly 2 years after implant - can hear but no words yet

I have a toddler implanted shortly after 1st birthday. He is nearly two years wearing implants. He can listen to instructions and basic sentences. But he doesn't speak any words yet. Audiologist assured mapping is on track. SLP doesn't say anything as of yet. We are waitlisted to be seen by pediatrician in a few months. We are anxious and worried since he won't speak clear words but babbles a lot. He babbles basic syllables like ma, ow, ah, u, ya, among others. He can understand basic sentences with any gestures or pointing like bye bye, take a bath, turn off lights, go sleep, drive, go outside, wear clothes and many more.

Anyone able to share stories based in similar experiences? Would love to hear it. We are in Calgary, AB btw.

Edit: we are working with SLP. We are seeing our SLP regularly

I am an avid reader here on sub while prepping my mini-lab. Moreover, I was already able to backup all of family photos that are precious to me. Thanks to this sub for valuable information.

Now that we are on AI era and endless subscribe to use or don't era, what type of information do you have that you can access if internet goes down, when AI become rogue and takes over internet or technology. What sort of useful materials do you have and why? Do you have a public repository to share your hoards?

WIkipedia is one of the hoard everyone on this sub is talking. Taking at least 110GB for text and images. What else do you have and why?

I am trying to create a basic homelab server. From what I can see, I will be using homelab for Proxmox Virtualization. This include Immich for photo management, Arr stack for Plex/Jellyfin Server, Nextcloud/Syncthing for online storage, Home Assistant for automation, PiHole for network wide adblocking, and who knows what to add thereafter.

I am looking for a starter server-like PC in Marketplace, Ebay and local liquidation store in my area. My minimum requirements would be at least i5-9th gen, can hold around 4 to 6 HDD (3.5). I have HDD laying around, thus the requirement.

I am planning to buy enterprise grade PC like the Optiplex, Thinkcentre, Elitedesk. I am not looking into tiny PC as it would require me shelling out another hundred or so bucks for a DAS storage. I am trying to eradicate the needs of running tiny PC + DAS combo as it would require me to power both if I need to. Having all of my HDD in the PC case, would solve this problem as I only need to automate the PC and it would have everything in place.

Has anyone able to fit in at least 4x3.5HDD on to these towers? Which tower easily hold such HDD without custom modification like 3D printing which I do not have access. As this is my first build, I am not looking into any fancy stuff. I just needed a server to run my needs and call it a day without forking too much on peripherals and electricity costs as these towers were not power hungry like gaming PCs.

Hoping to hear your inputs.

I have tens of thousands of photos that I have finally sorted out and organized using various tools such as exifdata, bulk rename tool, krokiet and czkawka. I mean these are very tedious tasks I have to spend hours of sorting out making sure no important photos or videos were deleted during the cleaning process. Now that I finally have them sorted out, I have an old laptop running i5-8th gen that I intend to make a server running proxmox with immich so it can be viewed via multiple devices.

Here are my questions:

  1. NAS is not an option since it is expensive. Is DAS storage a better option?
  2. If going with DAS, what should I look for?
  3. I want my proxmox server with immich, to run only on demand. If laptop is attached to DAS storage, does everytime I need to shut down the laptop I need to do safely disconnect device?
  4. Is anyone with similar setup able to advise?
  5. Does buying a used pc running similar i5-8th gen where I can add bunches of hdd drive a better one?

My goal is simple, save energy while running server at the same timr, photos have backup via raid (if advisable) or just clone. I already have 3+2 in 3-2-1 backup strategy. I am thinking of offsite option. Can anyone advise?
