Problems with Linux on Macbook Air 2017
Hello everybody!
It’s been almost 5 months since I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my 2017 MacBook Air. Everything worked perfectly from the start—I was able to run my usual apps, customize the look the way I wanted, and even run the new Affinity without any issues so I could work.
However, I’m now running into some issues. The laptop has a battery problem that was already flagged by the old OS: I was told I needed to replace the battery because it was old. I don’t want to replace it since I don’t mind using the laptop plugged in like a desktop (it would actually be better that way). For the past few weeks, Xsensors has been showing a temperature above 75 degrees, and the laptop runs very slowly even with just the browser and a few tabs open.
Should I switch to a different Linux distribution? Was Linux Mint not a good choice for the 2017 Mac Air? Is this a battery issue or a Linux issue? Should I go back to the original operating system?
Thanks in advance!
