Check your fluids, people
These 3 vehicles graced my bays today with empty coolant reservoirs.
Pay attention to your gauges/warning lights, people
That drain pan holds the totality of coolant drained before unbolting the heads.
Customer (me, sigh) states: this is NOT the personal vehicle I was planning to work on today
Reposted because I forgot to add the photo.
On my way to the shop my '16 Silverado began randomly almost stalling, A/C cut out, radio shut off, trans shifted wrong or just went into N. So I limp it in and start checking all the usual suspects. When I went to check for the heat shield maybe touching the starter stud, I found the heat shield just sitting on top of the starter. Whoever did the tranny R&R for my dad a few years ago apparently missed a bolt.
At least I don't have to track down a fuse block or PCM.
CS: My A/C isn't blowing cold
This one had a happy ending at least. He decided to do all 4 with an alignment and put off the compressor kit.
Customer (me) states: shifter feels sloppy
Meticulously maintained by the Swiss army for 15 years. Meticulously neglected by civilians for 40.
Should I buy a lottery ticket?
Radiator hose job on an Ecoboost. I hear a metal hitting water noise. Apparently the lord occasionally gives back.
