i’ve been on this med for 2,5 weeks now (50 mg, for excessive hair growth and hair thinning) and a symptom that i struggle with a lot is the hot flashes and heat intolerance / not being to tolerate heat as well as before. i was wondering if any of you have had this and if it ever went away and if it did — how long did it take for it to go away?
i’ve been on 50 mg of spiro for 2,5 weeks now (for excessive hair growth and hair thinning) and i’ve had lots of side effects, including:
- excessive sweating
- bloating
- random stomach aches
- increased hunger
- bruising WAY faster, and i can see my veins better trough my skin
- coordination issues
- my belly looks fuller?
- face looks softer and my under eyes are less hollow
- i developed this weird bald spot on my leg that also seems swollen
- random lightheadedness and/or dizziness, accompanied by this feeling of tiredness
- a spot on my upper right leg looking swollen (that i just noticed) that also feels warm rn
- my hair thinning looks worse
and i don’t know if i should stop or keep taking it, because i’m really desperate to get rid of the excessive hair growth (mainly on my legs) but the side effects are taking a toll on me (i also have health anxiety and am neurodivergent) and i don’t know if it’s worth it. i called my dermatologist a week ago and she said i could quit it if i want, but i kept taking it. i’m gonna contact her again first thing tomorrow to see if i can switch to something else because it hasn’t gotten better but worse in the past 2,5 weeks… i didn’t have any symptoms except for frequent urination when i first started this med. what do you think is happening and do you think it would get better?
i’ve been taking 50 mg of spironolactone for two weeks now for excessive hair growth (basically everywhere on my body) and hair thinning and a few days ago i noticed i’ve been bruising a lot and way faster than before. is this normal, and have any of you had this happen to you? my belly also looks bigger/bloated (?) and the skin under my eyes looks smoother. my face shape also looks slightly different and i have this bald spot on my leg all of a sudden. is this normal?
i’ve been on spiro for like about a week or two now, and i’ve noticed my appetite has increased since like 3-4 days ago. has anyone else had this? i’m actually still trying to lose all the weight i gained from my antipsychotics years ago and really don’t wanna gain any weight :( i’ve also been on a calorie deficit ever since november 2025 and lost 13 kg ever since and really don’t wanna lose my progress either… has anyone else had this happen to them? did it stop?
i got prescribed 50 mg but i saw a few days ago on tiktok that it could make your boobs grow? 🥲 i’m non binary and i don’t want that to happen – has anyone experienced this?
