Reset GL-iNet 1200 router trouble
I forgot my password to log into my travel router, and I thought I could just reset it. I unplugged the etherent and power to the router. I then held down the reset button and plugged the power in while holding the reset button down. Within a few seconds, the light started flashing. I set my computer to use 192.168.255.1/24 with gateway of 192.168.8.1 per GLiNet's website. I have my computer hooked to LAN port. I then opened FireFox and entered in 192.168.8.1, and it will not open. I cannot ping 192.168.8.1 either. I tried setting my computer to 192.168.2.1, and that didn't work either. I know the cable is good, because I can access the internet when hooked to a different router. I did try resetting with the mode button in both positions.
I have reset it the router several months ago, and I didn't have any problems then. I've watched different videos, but the ones I found were pretty vague when trying to reset.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? I'm sure it's Stupid simple, I just cannot see it.
