Stamford needs more than cheaper rent

As someone who grew up here, I often see people on here complaining about the cost of renting - needing roommates, experiencing rent hikes, etc.

However, I think a different approach is needed for affordability in Stamford. Huge apartment complexes are constantly being slapped up, but noticeably absent is the ability to actually buy condos. All are owned by large companies that make huge money milking rent out of longtime Stamford residents who would rather own property.

I haven’t heard anyone talking about this and quite frankly I am much more concerned about this as a trend in Stamford compared to rent prices as someone who wants to own a home here one day. I think that our politicians should only approve property development where a portion or all of those units are for sale individually rather than rent-only options. And the HOA fees are out of control as well - if you manage to buy something you pay rent to them instead. It all feels like a big scam and I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way.

161 verbal 163 quant and 5 essay - how to reach 166 in each and a 6 essay in 3-4 weeks?

I got a pretty good score on my first full length mock exam (official gre version) without prior studying.

I have scheduled for early June and want to brush up and see if i can bump up by a few points. I’m also a good writer and would love a perfect essay score, but a lot of videos I have seen seem quite elementary.

gregmat feels a bit overwhelming as all the study materials are starting from the ground up, but I really want to fill in any surface level cracks and hope for the best. I work a lot and only have about 1 hour on weekdays and 4-6 hours per day on weekends.

my current plan is basically to take more mocks and do “i’m overwhelmed” modules on any weak areas. I am using random flashcards for vocab.

any advice on what prepswift or gregmat materials (or practice test strategy) to focus on to bump score by a few points? any videos for good writers that help get that edge from a 5 to a 6?

edit: I took the PowerPlus Prep Practice Test #1. Just looking for advice and a strategy with a short term schedule.

What do Stamford residents think about Flock cameras

Overnight, these cameras have appeared and are owned by a private company rather than government agencies. Overnight, they have changed their rules and functionality to detect all human voices on the street “in case a human is in distress”. As Stamford residents, I think we should have a choice whether this all-consuming private organization surveillance is accepted and allowed to proliferate. I personally find it extremely disturbing.
