How to hide an unpleasant view out of a key window?

This is the view outside a window in a room where I spend a lot of time. It’s my neighbor’s chimney.

I’ve gone through all the potential layouts, and for various reasons it makes the most sense for a reading chair to sit facing this view. Left, right, and above the chimney top is beautiful – trees near, trees far, lots of sky.

What would you do with this window? A shade would block too much of the good stuff. Maybe a few planters suctioned to the window in front of the metal grates? Any other creative ideas? Thanks!

How to get full paywalled articles on Instapaper/Kobo?

What is the correct workflow for getting full articles (e.g. NYT or Atlantic or Economist) to sync with Instapaper so I can read them on my Kobo?

I *do* pay for subscriptions to all three sources mentioned above, and those are linked in my “Logged-In Sites” page on the Instapaper app.

But, for example, when I open an article in the NYT app on my phone and share it to Instapaper, only the partial preview syncs on the Kobo. I can get the full text if I used the “gift article” link, but of course that has a monthly limit.

Anyone else find a way to make this work? Thanks!
