Burn ban?

I’m not opposed to the burn ban for the most part. It’s far too dry, and there are far too many freedom idiots willing to risk it all to blow off some party poppers.

I moved here about a year ago and had never experienced a ban on residential charcoal and pellet grilling though. Is this something that happens often here in COS? Any idea on when they might ease at least those restrictions? I cook most of my meals outdoors, but don’t currently have (or want) a gas grill.

Realization that I've been screwed over by two different employers the exact same way.

I've been working in technology leadership roles officially at the Director level for about 10 years, and have been frustrated with the lack of opportunities to elevate to VP. Lately I've been looking for a new job (in my experience it's easier to find new work when you already have a job), and have noticed that most of the VP level job descriptions mirror about 80% of what I've been doing all along and not one, but two previous roles. In fact, the only aspects that were outside of my day to day work have been things like the regular meetings with the C-suite and the board (although I have had infrequent meetings with them as well), and top-level decisions that my input heavily influenced anyway.

To add insult to injury, I looked up a past CIO on LinkedIn who I used to report to and his entire profile reads like any given day of the week when I used to work with him. At that company, I'd asked the CEO candidly before they hired him whether or not I'd be in the running for the position, and he told me no - never told me why, but I assumed it was due to lack of experience. Now I'm inclined to believe that experience had little to do with it.

Remember Sheena Easton?

She used to be heavy in the rotation back in the day, and then just kind of fell off never to be heard from again.

Sheila E just put a bunch of stuff up for sale on Reverb and I recalled how some simpletons would confuse them despite sounding and looking nothing alike. And then thought about how nasty her song Sugar Walls really was and how I didn’t know what it meant as a kid.
