How do you make it onto the WBC or Olympic team in Star Player Mode?

I'm five years into my career (just started my fifth season a few hours ago) and I've been the best player in the league since my 2nd year (won back to back league MVPs, triple crown, best nine, won MVP of the month every month for the past two seasons straight, etc) and yet for the past two seasons every time the season starts up and the championship teams are getting selected I never get picked. Is it because my player is international so it's not possible for me to be on the Japan team? I figure there's no way it could be performance related, also my Star Level is 83 so I'm a very popular player if that is at all relevant to them picking me. Every time I don't get selected it says something along the lines of me being motivated to be better so I assume there is some way that I could make the team.

Is it just me or is batting very difficult in this game?

Just for reference my main experience with baseball games comes from Super Mega Baseball 4 and MLB The Show 14, where in both games I felt like hitting had a slight learning curve but I eventually got good at it pretty quickly. However with this game I’m pretty much just getting ground balls and infield flys. I’m playing with the CPU on Rookie and am struggling to win games because although my pitching is good my batting sucks. Any advice?

Is it a disadvantage to dribble primarily with one hand but shoot with the other?

So for context, I've been playing ball casually on and off pretty much my whole life and it wasn't until recently that I realized how odd it was that most people naturally gravitate towards using their dominant hand for both shooting and dribbling, but I never did, which is probably why my form looks so weird compared to other people. I'm mixed handed so I do some things with my left hand and other tasks with my right (not ambidextrous, which is where you can use both hands equally), and it just so happens that I dribble predominantly with my left hand but I shoot with my right, but should I try shooting with my left hand so my shooting form can be more seamless rather than what I've always done, which is essentially having to push the ball to my right hand after I pick up my dribble from my left hand, if that makes sense?

Also just for clarification, of course it's always better to learn to dribble with both hands, and I can dribble decently with my right hand, however it's something that I had to learn and doesn't come naturally to me, whereas with shooting I always just instinctively shot with my right hand. And I also have a thumb flick on my left hand when I shoot, not sure if that is relevant to the discussion but idk, thanks for any advice.
