Still new, but check out my custom gliders I made

I'm still new to the game and am pretty bad at survival games in general. However I've made a lot of progress on this one. But I find myself having the most fun trying to build things. This ship was started from a prefab design. But I wanted it to go faster and have chests. That created a significant pitching force that I countered by putting thrusters on the top that fire the same time as forward thrusters. It took a bit of trial and error and losing its protoype to the sky by stupid accident. But the result is a ship that when you put away the balloons and hit the forward thrusters it glides perfectly level and descends super slow for really smooth landings. It is awesome! I built one on the mainland and one at ninjago. They're slightly different from each other, in particular the thrusters on top are placed slightly different. I cant understand why but they are balanced different. I'm guessing it's the chests but from what I can tell they are the same. Oh well 🤷‍♀️

Update on running Boosteroid on Steam Deck as of 8/29/26

There are several useful guides on reddit in this group already. I'm not trying to repost information others shared, rather share my experience using them and what actually worked in the end.

To get it running natively I had to use the following link provided in this group:

https://github.com/bschelst/boosteroid-steamos

This did get it running natively and it was incredibly easy to use compared to spoofing linux to look like a different version(which that guide didnt work for me https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1qh1h53/how_to_run_boosteroid_natively_on_steam_deck_full/ ). Unfortunately though native it was stuttering and having crazy input lags making games completely unplayable.

However I saw frequent comments saying just run it in a browser. I did it with chrome, followed a guide, and it was still stuttering and had input lag. Determined to keep trying I decided to try it with Microsoft Edge, however I wanted to find an easier way to do this. I ended up finding an amazing tool here in this group to install all sorts of non steam launchers, including running boosteroid through edge.

Here is the link to the tool to install launchers to get boosteroid running on edge.

This did work, and in fact now I'd argue that boosteroid runs even better than GFN when you get it running properly. Sure it doesnt have 4k and you cant tweak the graphics to look as nice imo, but it's way cheaper and seemingly offers more games. At least the games I want to play.

At first I started using these cloud services for games you own out of the desire to play certain games I couldnt get to run on the deck. But now I'm addicted to not installing, nicer graphics, and better battery life. I still will continue to keep a rig like mine mostly up to date (atm I have a 4070 in there), so I wont be letting them take the hardware away from me like some of you suggest. I'm just trying to live the handheld fantasy of playing any game I want.

Let me know if any of this helps.
