Bus issue with student

Hello,

I am a one on one this year. Ten minutes before school gets out, a few students in the classroom leave to go to the bus. The rest of the students get picked up. When I tell him he has to wait, it's clear he doesn't understand that he is not going with them because he gets picked up. I asked a para in the building, and she suggested showing him that it's the bus, but that made it worse when i did it. I've tried a timer, and it worked the first 2 times and now it doesn't work. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do because I don't know what to do and it's frustrating to watch him have a meltdown because he doesn't understand that he can't leave cuz he doesn't ride the bus.

Curious about anyone's experience with being a para and going to college at the same time

Hello, I'm looking for some advice but also curious about some people's experiences. So I'm currently going to school to get my special education degree while also being a paraprofessional. I am starting clinical observation classes (known to some as practicum) and I am trying to manage that while also working. So far, they have told me I need to use my sick days and just never get sick. That feels like immense pressure plus pretty stressful. Does anyone have advice on how to manage school and being a para?

My dilemma with the gym/working out

I've been trying to go back to the gym and work out. I have been struggling with this factor. When I would wait an hour to go to the gym, I would still feel nauseous. I just tried to go to the gym before eating, and i also feel nauseous. I'm unsure what to do? Should I wait longer after eating to go to the gym or?

Following the acid watcher diet to the best of my ability, still suffering

Hello. The caption is as it says. I've been trying to follow the acid watcher diet since summer started. I read Dr. Jonathon Avivs book many times. I have been trying to follow it to the best of my ability. Try to eat foods in the healing phase, avoid acidic foods, etc. I still feel nausea. I still have stomach pain. My stomach literally hurts like i haven't eaten anything in hours. I know I'm lacking in the vegetable department at the current moment, but in my defense i haven't gone shopping yet.

Here's an example of what I eat in a day:

Breakfast

Omelet with 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites, parmesan cheese, and spinach

Peanut butter on organic whole grain toast

Lunch

Homemade chicken patty with Italian seasoning and salt

Basmati brown rice

Peas

Dinner

93 percent lean ground turkey with salt, Italian seasoning, and cumin

Basmati brown rice

Peas

Snacks I have on a regular basis (not the same every day)

Low fat mozzarella cheese stick

Nuts

Watermelon

Bananas

Lesser evil brand popcorn (organic and the 3 ingredients are salt, popcorn, and coconut oil)

When do I stop craving junk food?

Hello,

I have dealt with chronic gerd for almost 2 years. I probably had it for longer, but these past 2 years have been rough. I am trying to allow my body to heal from the inflammation, but I'm constantly craving junk food. This might be a side effect of my Lexapro, but I'm just wondering how I can make this stop? Or if there's anything that can be provided as an alternative?

Lift test for potential job

Hello,

I have been looking to find another job as a paraprofessional at a school district, and they want to hire me as a one on one paraprofessional. They are asking me to perform a physical and a lift test. Has anyone had to do this before? If so, how likely is one to fail or be unable to get the job after performing said test?

Update from yesterday's posts

So I posted yesterday about an incident regarding a field trip. I had the meeting this morning. The claim during the meeting was that I failed to feed my child during a field trip, but I was not told verbally or written what he was going to be eating. He is vegetarian, so doesn't eat what other kids eat. He usually eats hot lunch at the school, so also leading to my confusion. The other claim was that I was on my cell phone excessively. I recall checking it a few times, but not being on it the whole time. The final claim was that I was yelling at a student when we got back after being told to stop, but nobody told me to stop, and I was attempting to verbally redirect him in a setting that was loud. Admin said they would talk with the teacher and the other staff member involved in the incident and then refer back to me as to what the next steps are. I am really terrified of losing my job on the last couple weeks of school.

Feeling like my lead teacher hates me

So, last week we had a field trip. I was in charge of a kid who has vegetarian diet restrictions. I was under the impression that he was being provided a meal separate from the meals prepared at this field trip, similar to our other vegetarian student. I asked the teacher for assistance, and she told me she couldn't help me because she was helping another student with health needs during lunch. I sent the other TA to get her lunch when I came back to the table that my student was at. And from that time until she came back, there was no other adult who came to my table to help me out or watch the kids while I figured this out until like 10 minutes before we were about to leave. This lead to a formal complaint being filed about me (this is my assumption based on the events that followed), which is now leading to a due process meeting taking place soon. I was informed by a union representative that this would be a formal discussion of sorts (not being placed on leave or anything). But it just feels like she's been cold towards me this week so far and it feels like she wants me gone. I know the school year is about to end soon but I don't really want to end it on a bad note. Do I just need to accept that she doesn't like me anymore or is there anything I can do or say while also remaining professional about the situation in hand?
