My favorite LIQUID foods

I’m 10 days post-op from DJS, banded shut and drinking my food out of sauce bottles. So far, only a couple foods have helped me feel a bit more human. I’m quite picky with texture, which has made it difficult to eat anything meaty, despite most of my cravings being for savory food. I use a high-quality Ninja blender, which has been an absolute lifesaver. It grinds everything into a fine paste. I also have some sauce bottle tips with wider mouths to allow thicker consistencies to flow.

Savory
Jambalaya Soup — Signature Cafe (Safeway)
Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice Soup — Signature Cafe
Butter chicken + white rice + sour cream + spices

Sweet
Smoothie — frozen tropical fruit blend + Fage (greek yogurt) + protein powder + sugar
bonus tip: Emerald City Smoothie for recipe ideas!
Vanilla Ice Cream — Kirkland Signature (Costco)
letting it warm up naturally and eating before it’s fully melted results in a marvelous, creamy texture that’s more fulfilling. it also feels amazing on my sore throat/mouth. this one comes by the gallon, making it way more convenient than other brands.

Beverage
Turmeric Love — Suja Organic
the ginger helps with my nausea, and the turmeric is anti-inflammatory. a sip of this feels rejuvinating
Boosted Smoothie — Naked
not filling, but more nutrient-dense than juice

My journey is far from over, so I’ll be editing this post as I make more food discoveries. Please feel free to share your favorites in the comments, I’d be happy to try them out! I’m especially hungry for anything wheat-based or with cheese involved, but haven’t figured out how to make those work just yet.

disclaimer: i’m able to open my mouth slightly. if you aren’t, you may have to add a liquid or skip the thickeners (sour cream, greek yogurt) to reduce thickness.
