My latest, a carved qing shui nephrite bangle from BoutiqueOrientalSG on Etsy. I so love this color 😍. I’m waiting for another one, a quiemo blue one that hopefully will also meet expectations. I had to take advantage of the sale, so much for this being the last one 😅
I guess I went a bit overboard 😅 the first one is spinach green, the second is a mix of dark and light smoky purple and lake green, the third, and current fave, is white and the last one is smoky purple and white. So many bangles so little wrist 😂
Another one from u/youka00 . It’s a very lovely sage green color and my first matte bangle. I’m planning to keep it on for a few days. It will be interesting to see how it changes as it gets more oily. I’m also so happy I’m able to wear a 56 mm now, I’ve been trying to squeeze my hands a few times every day in the hopes of making it more flexible. I guess it worked? 😅
It’s a beautiful lake green with smoky purple patches. I just love how jade transforms with every angle and lighting and how it’s never boring to look at.
Got my newest bangle in the mail today and I’m in love. I can’t quite capture how pretty it is in person. The other pic is the new bangle with my other nephrite ones.
How do you clean jadeite and nephrite pieces from everyday gunk? Are soap and water okay?I often use lotion when I put on my bangles so I can imagine the build up. Also, how often do you clean them?
We were in Japan and so I decided to pick some Itoigawa jade pieces. I would have loved to go to the jade beach to try my luck at finding jade pebbles and visit the Fossa Magna Museum and geek out about geology and jade, but we were short on time. I got this pair of lavender earrings and a pair of blue jade beads which I can’t wait to have my jeweler make into earrings.
Just received my bangles and rings from u/youka00 and I love them! I’ve been thinking of buying a bangle from her for a while and it took me a while to bite the bullet. Lucky for me, it hasn’t sold yet. Picked up a few rings too, to match this one and my other favorite bangle. Buying these had been a very pleasant and smooth experience. I’ve fully accepted that I have a slight bias for nephrite over jadeite now.
I know stacking is not good for the bangles,but i really just love the sound they make 😅 but I probably won’t be doing this for the more expensive ones though
I got some beading string to repair a broken necklace and thought I’d try my hand at making my own bracelets. So I ordered some jade beads online and watched a few videos. The dark blue ones are Gutemalan and the yellow ones are heated.I also made some necklaces out of red jade (heated also) and the yellow beads buy my knotting technique leaves a lot to be desired. Really had fun with this project. Getting into jade is like going down a rabbit hole 😅
