Thank you, not just for helping me, but others in need🙏🏻🫂

Thank you, not just for helping me, but others in need🙏🏻🫂

(I was going to wait for my friend who did my photos to send me pics of the setup of my wedding potluck but shes going through the pics still, and I couldnt wait any longer to express my gratitude so I am putting the thank you I had receieved from the Legion of Mary Sister instead!, omitting top part of the text due to it having my name and my husbands workplace in the message lol)

I posted in this sub about a month ago asking for help on saving my wedding, as my spouse&i had a bad financial hiccup and I was in crisis panic mode...and a handful of lovely people here suggested communicating the idea of a potluck to my guests, and taking what was already fundraised to cover any odds and ends.

I just wanted to post this to say: we went through with that suggestion, and thank you to those who gave me the potluck suggestion, as it was extremely well received by everyone. We were even offered an added blessing for the venue, as we were granted the private dining space at my husbands restaurant, as a wedding gift from his boss.

Everything fell into place and again, I am overly grateful that I was able to reach out to kind strangers to help save our special day. I dont really come from the best family, and the only outside help I had apart from my spouse was my maid of honor up until the point of the potluck suggestion

Everyone thought the idea was a cozy, fun, and low-stress organic way to celebrate. There was so much food left, all of our loved ones were able to take food home. Even after, we still had food leftover that I called Good Shepard Ministries (a shelter here in Toronto) to donate the food to people in need.

So, while this "thank you" may be a small part in towards giving me a great idea to save my special day ; it is actually moreso a huge huge huge thank you for giving such a grand suggestion that we were able to help others with the help we had receieved due to its abundance.

Again, 100000x thank you. Bless you🙏🏻

Please help my fiance and I save our wedding🙏🏻

Hello reddit friends, kinda anxious about posting here tbh, because I have trouble asking for help due to past familial traumas/belittlement, but im in need of a miracle...and I trust that God may place good-hearted strangers in my path🙏🏻

This is as short as I can make my current situation (sorry if I over-explain!):

My fiance and I (together for 6years) are about to get married in less than a month, and we have run into a "when it rains, it pours" situation with having to change our reception venue and dinner catering at the last minute; which has completely thrown off our budget. With how tight time is, and the fact our apartment is not big enough to host a reception/dinner, we are very limited in terms of plans and options we can pull off.

This wedding has been entirely self funded, apart from the small bits and pieces friends have helped with. We both come from toxic families, my side doesnt even want anything to do with our wedding. Therefore, wont help.

We have thankfully within our budget to cover half of the costs, but it feels like an impossible task to gather the rest.

A friend of mine created a fundraiser on my behalf to try to help me (hence the random photo and he used my online name "Bean" in the description)

Yes, I did go through all the proper verifications with the site to assure that all funds will go directly to me! Its been up almost a month, about 30% towards the goal.

My fiance and I have already gone through so much devastation and heartbreak over the last year.

We lost a child from miscarriage December 2025, and that shattered us.

Getting married is supposed to be the very event in our lives that would've made us feel like "we are finally doing something positive for our lives, and for our healing".

I know some people view marriage as unimportant; but to us, it means everything in terms of feeling like we are on the right track in life...and more important, means everything in terms of coping with the loss of a child.

We are both pretty anxious, losing sleep, and in some ways we feel a bit hopeless.

So, im deciding to be brave to share this fundraiser, to seek the charity of kind strangers🙏🏻💜 I thank anyone ahead of time if they decide to help

(even a prayer for us, kind words, or sending good vibes our way are appreciated)

To anyone who may want more information on anything I have stated in this post to prove credibility, I would be more than happy to provide it via DM (email from the venue of the price, proof of upcoming wedding via my invitations, emails sending invites/other planning met, marriage class certificate...i can also provide the proof of us losing a child but ill be honest its hard for me to open the death certificate due to grief)

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this...sending you all good vibes, peace, and blessings💜
