1956 CTC-5 (color!!)
I never thought i would own a color set from the 50s. Im over the moon. I have the legs and the back too! I haven't tested the picture tube yet but im hopeful because it has many original rca tubes and there isnt much discoloration around the electron guns. Ill have to buy a tester to be sure. I know to replace all the wax paper caps before doing anything else and check out the electrolytics (im in the reform vs replace camp with 50s electrolytics), ill power it on with a lightbulb etc. I have one other 50s motorola black and white set I worked on and a ton of radios but this is my first color set so its gonna be a learning curve.
What should I do about the disintegrating insulation around the deflection yoke? Its the only thing so far im not sure about.
