Looking for relationship workbook/book for couple [31F] and [32M]
**TL;DR:** We love each other but have very different communication/conflict styles. I tend to pursue conversations and repair, while he processes internally and tends to move on once things feel normal. I’m starting to feel like I carry more of the emotional labor, so we’re looking for practical resources we can work through together to improve communication and conflict.
My partner and I have been together about a year and want to improve how we communicate and handle conflict. We love each other and have a good relationship overall, but we approach conflict very differently.
I tend to want to talk things through and resolve issues directly, while he processes internally and often feels like things are fine once we’re spending time together again. I also find myself initiating most of the harder conversations and trying to get us back on track, and I’m starting to worry I may be carrying more of the emotional labor. At times, I also feel like my concerns get minimized or not fully followed through on.
We’re looking for something practical we can work through together—workbooks, books, exercises, or conversation cards. Ideally something we can do on our own without couples counseling (at least for now).
Would really appreciate any recommendations you’ve personally found helpful!
