Are my studio monitors damaged?
I was recently gifted PreSonus Eris 3.5s as my first studio monitors, so I really don't know much about studio monitors in general. I've had them for about 2 months and haven't had issues until the last month or so (I think they are a couple years old though). I move them around quite frequently between my garage and my computer setup, both setups are connected via aux. In the garage it has a longer cable and also seems to have more issues. It would do things like the right speaker sometimes gets way quiteter than the left for many seconds sometimes even minutes before popping back in, it also sometimes produces this static noise while playing other sounds.
My thought has always been that the issues are caused by some sort of interference because of it being an aux and also having a longer cable. But now I am starting to notice the same issues on my pc setup as well, I remember at least once where the right speaker went quiter than the left and it also does the static noise thing more often than I ever noticed before. Is there something wrong with my studio monitors or is it just interference?
