Tickle clams to get pearls

In order to obtain a pearl from a clam, you would have to tickle it with a brush, causing it to open up.

Clams would drop a generic "Shell" item when killed, but I was thinking the shell item could spawn naturally as a common layer block (like the newer flower beds or leaf litters) on beaches and ocean floors. That way, you aren’t necessarily incentivized to kill it, but still get something. Maybe you could make a shell chest plate to go with the turtle helmet (Unrelated, I really like the mechanic of the brush being able to interact with mobs, maybe they could have pets and livestock react positively to being brushed. It would be funny if you could tickle hostile mobs to force them to stop attacking while you're doing it. I feel like the possibilities here haven't been fully explored).

I'm kind of into the idea of Pearls being an alternative to Lapiz while enchanting, but that using them would skew the odds toward aquatic enchantments. The enchanting system could do with more control in the enchanting process without entirely removing the element of chance, and I'm imagining soft or hard -tying certain enchantments to special resources could assist with that.

Also, they would be used as a light pink armor trim, creating a studded, pearl effect.

I’d love to hear other ideas for what pearls and clams could be used for!

[OC] Swipe to see his ULTIMATE form - art by Mark Ship

I was imagining that this version of Fastrack is a “multiversal speedster”. He moves fast by taking a “fast track” through time-space, since his species evolved to stalk prey cross-dimmensionally. As a result, he embodies two extremes, a dark hunter, moving through the negative space of the universe quickly and silently, but then also having moments where he’s like a combination of Bat-mite and Bugs Bunny; so while there are panels where I would render him in the Ben 10 Again style, he can break panels to take short cuts through the scene, look different for comedic effect.

Also, because it’s funny and I love consolidating lore, I was thinking Xingo from the reboot could be a member of this species, which will probably be how Ben gets the transformation in the story.

For Ben 10 Again I had this big plan for the Forever Knights, part of which included bringing White Knight over as a villain. A la the Forever Knight from the reboot. We wouldn't see his face, so his actual identity is up in the air.

Sketch is by me
