K-120 with a D-120F or another K-120?

I currently have a a 2x12 cab with a K-120 and a Weber California. I'm running it through a Mesa Fillmore 50 head. I'm going to move the California to another 1x12 cab. Has anyone paired a D120 with a K120 and can offer feedback? I was kind of thinking about it, or should I just stick with another K120?

Will Ray Z-Coil Installation

I just ordered a Will Ray Z-Coil from Might Mite for my Comanche bridge. I haven't pulled the pickguard off yet to look at anything. Is this a straight swap or are there additional wires compared to the regular Z-Coil bridge?

NAD: Fillmore 50

A few months ago, I decided that I wanted to start paring down my gear. A few guitars that I never play and too many combo amps that take up too much room. After my buddy built me a 1x12 cab, I wanted to move away from combos to heads with a few cabs that could just stack. Another redditor kept asking me about a G&L Doheny V12 that I have so I finally relented and am delivering it to him this weekend. It so happens that when he hit me up again, I had just added an open box Fillmore 50 to my Sweetwater cart but was on the fence about pulling the trigger. Anyway, the Fillmore 50 arrived yesterday afternoon.

I went into this purchase blind for the most part. I did my research, but I had not played one. I really wanted great Fender like cleans without buying a Fender. I was on the fence a bit because while I like my Mark V:35, I'm not in love with it and I really didn't want another Boogie. The way I describe V35 is that it has no soul. It seems too perfect I guess, so to me it lacks character. Plus it's a bitch to dial in. I've had it for probably three years and I'm still constantly playing with the settings.

The Fillmore is the complete opposite of any Mesa that I've ever owned or played. It's a cinch to dial in. No hours of messing around if you read the manual. And holy shit, the CLEANS! The cleans are in a completely different ballpark than my DRRI and Mark V35. I was absolutely stunned by how good this amp sounded right out of the box. It blew my expectations out of the water.

I did order the matching 2x12 cabinet that should arrive tomorrow. Last night I had the 1x12 loaded with a JBL K120 and words cannot describe how impressed I was. I basically ran a modified G&L S-500 -> Boost of the Dead -> Fillmore / JBL into it last night and the tone was just out of this world. I did not want to put it down.

Once the matching cab comes tomorrow, I think I'm going to throw my JBL K120 and my Weber California in there. I probably won't keep that cab loaded with those speakers, but I really want to hear how they sound in the 2x12.

Anyway, I'm 95% sure I have found a forever amp and I can sell the DRRI and the Mark V35.

G&L S-500 Pickup Swap

I have a spare tribute S-500 here that I want to do some work on. Going to swap out the potentiometers probably this weekend and I have someone making me 1954 spec'd pickups. I have all of the pots including the 1M reverse taper for the bass control. I'm going to keep the PTB and expander setup. Has anyone else here done this? Is it a straight swap or do I need to make some capacitor changes to the wiring?
