Mrs. and Mr.

I’m in love and getting married soon! My sister threw me a bridal shower, and she intentionally put “Mrs and Mr” on all of the signage instead of “Mr and Mrs” which is (saldy) the default. I thought it was a cute point, so now I made all of our wedding signage have me first as well.

So yeah, any woman getting married to a man, I think putting yourself first with language is a cool thing we can do now as a contrast to us be married off as property.

But anyway I’m VERY EXCITED. I LOVE LOVE. GO ME!!

My husband and I want a family and are in a good position to support a baby!!! We are thinking about trying to get pregnant early 2027. I have bipolar disorder, but I have talked to my psychiatrist, my pcp, and my obgyn who all agreed I should remain on my current medication before, during, and after pregnancy.

My husband and I both drink and smoke weed. We plan to quit everything in september and let our bodies get rid of any toxins before the conception attempts early next year. I smoke weed for back pain (lower back herniated disk), but I started physical therapy and have a pregnancy-safe pain management plan without medication other than tylenol.

We live in a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartment. Currently we use the 2nd bedroom as a work from home office, but the living room area is big enough that it can support us setting up an office space out there. So we will have a full size nursery!

Ok sorry, lots of background, so back to the main question: Imagine you are getting pregnant in 1 year. What do you need to know right now? What do you NOT need to worry about? What should I start planning early?

I’ve been wanting to be a mom my whole life and it’s finally getting close! I’m turning 29 in August and want 2-3 kids.
