Does Deshaun Watson’s Play Deserve Praise

Not the creator of the content, all credit to Leahlytics on TikTok.

Data seems to back up what the eye test suggests if you’ve been to a game this year or have the All 22 — the receivers and offensive scheme are successful and the QB is doing enough (but not single-handedly winning games).

Heading into the off-season, WR was one of our 3 largest needs in my opinion (WR, OL, QB). Berry seems to have crushed this need in particular - drafting two complementary WRs early. KCC is one of the fastest separators in the class - this is an obvious slam dunk to start to fill that need. Boston has been a surprise on the separation front (22nd in separation score https://x.com/sleeperbrowns/status/2107907445628805288?s=46) - where his draft profile suggested amazing contested catch-ability coupled with a concern with inability to create separation at the next level. When we managed to get Boston in the 2nd, I knew this combination was going to be incredible for whomever we had at QB.

That being said - there seem to be many instances Watson hasn’t been getting the ball out on time. Easiest way I can word that observation (which was my biggest takeaway watching the home opener) - it seems like he is waiting to see the guy open instead of throwing a guy open (or any type of anticipation).

Do you think Watson’s play is deserving of praise? Or is he getting misplaced credit for the dramatic increase in quality of pass catchers this year?

Mid-Late 2027 1st or Javonte Williams

10tm 0.5 PPR SF TEP.

League has a large value for RBs - being the most scarce position and traditionally scoring the most between WR/RB/TEs.

First is a projected playoff team with little depth. If everyone remains healthy - could be a serious contender to win the league. If a key player or two get injured, could be a first round bounce candidate (or fringe miss).

I have Jeanty, Achane, and Etienne with no quality RB4 (Tyrone Tracy). I can only start 3 RBs in this league.

KTC says value is on the 2027 first side regardless of mid-late; I’m slightly more bullish on Javonte than the rankings have him though (I’d rather have him over Breece, Saquon, Price, Skatt, Irving for example).

I don’t need to do the trade to be able to contend. I’ll likely be a top3/4 scorer either way. Should I send it regardless?

I was planning on drafting a RB in 2027 with one of the firsts anyways. What’s the odds a mid-late 2027 first RB ends up being better than Javonte for fantasy over the next 3 seasons?

Also the added benefit of getting to realize the value of that 27 first this year if I make the trade as Javonte could debatably start over Etienne (or potentially Jeanty) in situational matchups.

2026 Offseason Retool - How’d I do?

Current team, 2025 end of regular season, all offseason trades in chronological order.

10tm 0.5 PPR, SF, TEP.

My team was the second highest scorer in the league last year and missed the playoffs. My goal this offseason was to basically just take value and shoot for WR upside after my 2025 offseason trades (BTJ, Ladd, Jamo) generally flopped.

The third trade was to give up Stowers at the 2.02 (pick 12) plus 3.04 (pick 24) to get the guy’s 2027 first. It will likely be mid to late (somewhere in the 6-10 range).

The league values elite players highly, so getting a top end player often requires an “overpay” from any calculator.

Traded Stowers + Pick 24 for a 27 First - thoughts?

10tm 0.5 PPR TEP (+0.5) - I don’t really need a TE since I have Kraft and (acquired recently) Pitts.

Wasn’t particularly interested in anyone else for the remainder of this draft and Stowers fell to me at pick 12 - ended up getting tons of offers to trade down 1-5 picks; but ended up landing on this one.

I should be a relatively strong contender (was 2nd in PF but missed the playoffs in 2025 from terrible matchup luck; traded Olave + 26 1st + 27 1st to get Puka. Traded a 27 2nd for Pitts last week. Just drafted Lemon at 1.04 this year over Tyson).

Trying to turn this into a true dynasty next year - but we have some stacked fricking teams in this league. Truly need studs to be any kind of favorite in the playoffs.
