Oh my GOD the endgame slog (vent)
I have gotten to what I believe is the end of the main quest, with just the Ms. Charm and Astrologer lines to complete, and I feel like the game design keeps doubling down on hostility to the player. Like, the Aristocrat Papers are expensive enough to ensure that players like me have likely finished our other objectives by the time we're at this point, but you're... still making me wait multiple weeks to do a few basic turn-ins of shit I already have? I'm trying to just make shit to wear myself out to sleep and timeskip, but I run out of basic materials - like, wtf, why is there no endgame way to produce sticks, so I can make more chisels, so I can make more blocks, so I can sleep more? Why is the endgame designed so that I'm incentivized to downgrade my tools so they exhaust me faster? I'm in a position where I'm going to spend twenty real-world minutes alternating between swinging a rusty sword and sleeping, just to skip time because I have nothing else to do in the game, and this seems like an issue that just really didn't have to be an issue. Feeling very annoyed and discouraged from finishing now. I don't mind sinking time into games, but I resent game design where it feels like the devs just thought I should sit here for twenty minutes when they could have just added a time skip button, let me sleep at will, have critical npcs around more often, sell me a knock-out potion, whatever.
