She’s just worried about the troops, my guy!
A really aggressive reply to what is one of the nicer posts about the shitshow that is this war.

Reported from every angle, of course. This one at least had some fun replies.
And this is in Texas, a state that not so quietly holds their own flag in equal (or higher) regard. Better yet, she starts the conversation as herself and then all comments are from her Christian counseling account.
She has been our most prolific and diverse poster over the last week. Her posts have turned too religious and have been predictably removed. She will now be reporting all you heathen mods to Nextdoor for review at their next earnings call. Deus vult!
Posting that you would carry a gun into a no gun zone because you are afraid of mass shootings is somewhat understandable if not honorable (it is Texas), but this was in reply to an article about a church preschool camp teacher finding a handgun in a toddler’s backpack. That kind of changes the scope a wee bit. Maybe not the best time for 2A posting. And the other comments were generally the expected level of concern over how it happened in the first place.
I also love that the reply just stops mid-sentence.
I get the annoyance, even though I personally wouldn’t care if the garbage was being picked up… but now you have a bag of shit in front of your house? Hey, I’m no dog poop strategist.
Someone started a post about the UFC fight and apparently the comments weren’t respecting the gravity of the dark magic involved. I, personally, always thought it was a bad idea to put the actual devil in the continuity of government, or something like that.
I’m not talking about a discussion simply being closed, but closed specifically “due to comments violating Nextdoor guidelines.” It was one of the news outlet articles about a cross dressing trapeze artist / performer from the 30s being honored. It drew the predictable mix of earnest comments from regular humans and ire from the usual deplorables, but nothing worse than our average. Just wondering if anyone has seen the “with extreme prejudice” variant of thread closures.
The comments are attempting to determine if she figuratively or literally armed herself. She keeps it ambiguous!
I’ve noticed a surge in posts that were replies to other posts. At first, I thought it was just people who didn’t know how to reply or “my comment must be seen” types. People said Nextdoor made a change, but I never saw it - until today. One of my replies prompted this little option.
Is it worth the “engagement”, Nextdoor? I don’t even get consistent notifications anymore, why make me chase a conversation? It just prompts more disconnected conversation.
A little backstory: our state keeps pushing laws that force public schools to display the Ten Commandments, and the local news outlet accounts repeat the same articles on our feed every day or so. The battle lines are predictable: on one side you have the logical argument, and on the other, all manner of single word replies, alt history, general Christian nationalism… you know, modern discourse. They let this one linger to 321 replies. Then this fucking lad appears out of the mist and fires off a salvo that finally gets the thread locked!
It may not be a troll, but the story has that fabricated feeling to it. Maybe because I’ve never thought to disembark a vehicle to physically pray at a sign. Whatever the intent, he tossed the line out and the little fishes are gathering. Too bad it probably won’t make the afternoon.
It was a nice chuckle.
The same lead from a few weeks ago pops this little midnight gem on the main feed. The problem is, nobody is talking about it. Not a single post or comment. Nobody cares, dude.
And all the replies are completely sensible, which completes the scene.
