State your prediction here: Where will the Markles be in the next 5 years and why

I have always felt they will end up as expats in some low cost of living, nouveau riche "sunny place for shady people" British expat enclave where they can be Big Fish in a Small Pond surrounded by aspirational social climbers who will be happy to bow at Madame's feet.

I think they are dumping the kids in the UK with an eye on boarding school and will stay in the UK to get them settled there, maybe a few years at most, and then abscond to somewhere with a low cost of living like Portugal as their primary residence.

Also maybe within 6 months to a year, they will say it is too hard to maintain multiple properties and unload the Olive Garden

If they divorce, I think once William becomes King, he will pay harry to be a sexpat in Africa or somewhere and Harry will find some simple young local girl as his plus one.

It will be fun to revisit this thread in a year or two :)

CDAN Blind Item: Meghan's First Dinner Party

There is a blind item today on Crazy Days and Nights that most people are guessing is Meghan's first Hollywood dinner party in the 00s when she was with producer Trevor.

"Seeing the birthday pictures this week made me think back to a long time ago and hope if there was a birthday party it was nothing like the one she host a few decades back. On entering the house, guests were instructed to remove their shoes. The WHITE carpets were pure white still. They sat on Divans not couches. They were told to wash their hands before eating. "There's soap and towels in the guest bathroom please use them." She served a seven course dinner with four forks per place setting. Her china was Limoges. She had four wine glasses. She called the guests to dinner with a bell. She then sat them boy/girl, boy/girl. Guests were not permitted to leave the table until they had cleaned their plates. One guest was instructed to finish their pecan pie so everyone else could be served coffee.

One couple paged themselves from the cellphone while hidden in the bathroom and pled a babysitter emergency. A newly pregnant woman claimed morning sickness at 10:30pm. The rest stayed the course in agony. I think it was her first dinner party because the help had all quit by the end of the evening. The guests were told "The Limoges is directly from Germany". Most people wore light summer dresses and sandals or a sports jacket. Our actress wore a full length sequin gown complete with diamond earrings and necklace. The tiara was left at Tiffany's I suppose. Guests were not permitted to put coffee on adjacent furniture but had to hold it on their laps."

Throwback Thursday: "'Meghan for President?' explores Meghan’s tremendous impact and political aspirations." This article from late 2019 is a peak popularity fever dream that manifests what she believed she'd get from Megxit. What a difference 7 years makes....It's crazy how much they have fallen!

"True Royalty TV’s Hot New Documentary Asks: 'How Far Can Meghan’s Fame and Power Take Her on the World Stage?'"

I stumbled across this article today, and boy it is crazy to look back and see what kind of press Meghan was getting back in 2019. It is about a documentary called "Meghan for President" that debuted in Nov. 2019. This interview is with the director, and he seems like a kind of film-making equivalent of Omid Scobie.

This was published 2 months before Megxit and it is basically priming the world for her post Megxit life. It is pretty much proof everything was planned long before their departure was announced.

If someone gave her a crystal ball and told her her biggest success would be "founding" a struggling tradwife dropshipping jam company, I don't think she would have believed them...

This article has some doozies, with the best below.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is one of the world’s most famous and influential women. A new documentary asks a big question—how far could she parlay her fame and power? And could the American presidency be a far-fetched aim?

“There’s absolutely no doubt that Meghan has the power to influence social and economic change and policy. We’ve never had a woman who’s had a career like she’s had and has been brought up free-thinking, driven, focused and ambitious,” Royalty TV Co-Founder Nick Bullen tells Parade.

"There’s never been anybody like her in the royal family over the last thousand years. So, this is exciting new territory. It’s thrilling, and in some cases, it’s frightening to some people; but overall, it certainly all builds to a worldwide fascination."

The interviewer than goes on to ask the question:

Why U.S. president? Does it seem like despite her global appeal that may be a little bit of a reach for Meghan?

Look, you’re absolutely right. It’s a fairly out-there and a relatively bold statement, but at the very beginning of this whole thing, I was talking to an American journalist about Meghan, and he was saying that here in the U.K.,  the press has been pretty mean to her and that we use words in the U.K. about her being driven and focused and ambitious and being up at 5 a.m. in the morning firing off emails to her staff. And in the U.K., this was slightly being billed as a derogatory take on Meghan.

So, this American journalist who I was talking to said, “Why are those things negatives? Here is someone who is so driven, focused, ambitious, getting up early, doing her emails, this is all great stuff, so actually you should be celebrating this woman.” From that point, we suddenly went, “Hang on, maybe we’ve got this wrong.” So we decided to look at her for the American dream sensibility and since anyone born in the states could one day be president, is there a world in which she could go all the way?”

She started off as training for her diplomatic exams. She did look at politics originally. Her whole focus in her early childhood was very political...

The following is my favourite part, saying that Meghan in 2019 was further along than Ronald Reagan, an actually famous actor, president of SAG and governor of California, and Donald Trump, a world-famous celebrity and real estate tycoon, when they first thought about becoming president:

Meghan could potentially go all the way. Why not? When Ronald Reagan came out of Hollywood, did people genuinely think he was going to go all the way to the White House? And when Donald Trump started, people didn’t take him seriously.

I think Meghan’s starting point, in many ways, is much further ahead than Reagan or Trump. We’re not saying she will ultimately get to the White House, hence the question mark, but we are asking is there a world in which she could go the whole way? After all, she is the embodiment of the epitome of the American dream.

She married well, that's it!

Then it goes on to to talk about how she befriended famous people just so she can use them to further her ambitions. Who name drops like this? Who is still around? People like Michelle Obama are referred to as "her support team".

I also relish the line "Meghan isn't a lady who lunches".....fade to 5 years later and platters of fruit rainbows.

When you watch Meghan and Harry’s wedding you clearly see who is in her corner on the guest list—Amal and George Clooney, Serena Williams and Oprah Winfrey…

And also Michelle Obama is a friend. So, just having one of them in your corner could make a drastic difference in any endeavor you were doing. So, let’s talk about her circle. Meghan isn’t a lady who lunches. Meghan is a woman who wants to bring about a change. This is Meghan who is on a mission, and she’s realized pretty early on that whatever she’s going to do to make the difference, she needs to surround herself by an A list. So, look at her support team; it is a very strong political, broadcasting, showbiz A-list.

Who else is part of her and Prince Harry’s circle?

Well, Meghan is clearly very good at picking people who will have her back. Look at what happened after the whole private jet incident in the summer. The people that came out to back her included Elton John and George Clooney. She and Harry have Ed Sheeran working with them on the mental health initiative. They know how to get their message out there in the most effective way, and again, that’s Meghan’s skillset that’s making it work so well.

Why should people watch this particular documentary?

What happens when you marry into one of the most famous families in the world? Does it shut down your voice? Does it prevent you from being the person you want to be?

Funny how she used that same line about "shutting down her voice" like the Little Mermaid in the Oprah interview. And it ends with:

If you combine the stage and platform that the British royal family gives you with a desire to make a difference, then where might it all end? And that really, for me, is the most exciting bit of it all.

She really thought she could do half in and half out and end up president. She had no idea that they would be told "go forth and enjoy private life"

The Daily Mail also did a piece on this documentary in November 2019, further manifesting her Megxit plan, I think the Africa part was thrown in for Harry and was maybe part of their "King and Queen of the Commonwealth" plan:

Bullen also noted that Meghan and Prince Harry may soon have a second home in the US.

'I hear from people who know them well that they are house-hunting in California and they’re coming over for Thanksgiving,' he said.

'Meghan’s really keen that Archie grows up understanding his American roots. Her American heritage is incredibly important to her, so I can see a world in which they probably have three bases — the base in the UK for their royal duties, a base in the states for their global work, and then also possibly somewhere in Africa because Africa is incredibly important to both of them.'

Reports that the couple plans to buy a home in the US first surfaced this spring.

'Meghan definitely wants a place in Los Angeles — she loves the city, the lifestyle and climate,' a source told The Sun. 'Ultimately, she is a California girl and can breathe easier there.

'Spending time there would also allow her some freedom and independence from both the Palace and the Press — and more control over her life and the people around her,' the publication reported. 'She is a duchess in the UK, but could be a queen in LA.'

Ouf, reading that last line in retrospect....

Excellent video from Vintage Road Show on how the palace has been playing us for chumps

This is really the only non-journalist anti-MM channel I trust/watch anymore. Shauna is really reasonable and objective, and because of this has established decent sources. This video is an excellent take on the long-game of Project Thaw that has been going on behind the scenes, and how the monarchy is taking us all for a ride. (She is pro-William so not against the institution, just the current lot).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKMBQ9TNots

ETA: I have no idea what "project thaw" is to people on here, but to Vintage Road Show, it is that there have been ongoing talks for at least 9 months for Harry to meet his father. And it happened. So it was obviously going on.

This article in the Daily Mail from June basically shows the entire plan referred to in Shauna's video to bring Harry _ Meghan back in, and it basically panned out.

For those who have dealt with Narcissistic abuse, the royals have now officially entered their first "Hoover" stage. If you know, you know.....

Nothing else really to add. It took her 4 years, but she's made it back into the palace walls. Narcs are like Terminators, if you are in their sites, they never back down til they get what they want or you peace out like William and Catherine have.

If you have ever dealt with a narc, you know what's next in the inevitable cycle. The chaos never ends. The people who think the drama ends here or doesn't really matter because they didn't get a souvenir photo, are fortunate to have never dealt with an emotional abuser. There will be a plateau of peace, then it will all start again, only worse.

I hope I am wrong, but the cycle of abuse seems to be one of those laws of nature that hold true for all narcs, a bit like how the planets rotate like clockwork around the sun.

Also, I remember them saying Charles would never meet the grandkids, til Megsy got an apology....I wonder....

Amidst all the Harry drama, a reminder that Meghan has been in Europe and not invited to Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week....

Icons of fashion like Cardi B attended (snark) Paris Haute Couture Fashion week (July 6 to 9), but no sign of an invite for Meghan, even though she was allegedly in Europe. Of course, she could have attended privately....

I guess her stated 2025 pivot to fashion has officially failed, too....

Was a Charles reunion merely a B-plot for a new Netflix documentary the entire time? Diana died in August 2027, so any "good weather" filming at her grave would have to be done this summer for a Diana Death 30th Anniversary documentary. They need drama for the show to sell.

I truly believe Harry + Meghan were using the Invictus visit to secretly piggyback filming at Diana's grave at Althorp for a Diana death anniversary documentary. In order to have pretty scenic good weather shots at Althorp, and not rain and grey, the footage would need to be done this summer in order to be ready for a summer 2027 release.

I think they were trying to rope Charles in for a meeting, using the grandkids as bait, not because they really wanted to see him, but because it would be compelling content for a documentary.

They know a documentary just about how wonderful Diana was will probably be kind of boring, so they have to deliver another "Harry + Meghan" reality-show type documentary in order to get Netflix cash, and what would be better than "Harry + Meghan: Coming Home"

They didn't need to film the actual meeting with Charles, but the before and after drama of the meeting. Talking about it, how they felt, the nervousness, how it went afterwards. Playing the living unloving father against the warmth of the mother, even in death. It would add a much-needed narrative punch. Meghan has to be there for this to work.

Plus they were hoping they would get blue-light police security to make them feel, and more importantly, look, important on film for the Netflix cameras

The fact they are still so incredibly desperate about making this meeting happen so down to the wire, really makes me think there is some more sinister afoot. With the court loss, they need money more than ever and have to deliver something filled with OTT family drama to get a big deal $.

I really hope King Charles does not meet with them so he can't be an off camera character in their next documentary.

The real reason Meghan doesn't show her kids' faces? California's children in social media law.

So I was watching a video about another influencer, and it mentioned how she stopped showing her kids' faces "for privacy and safety reasons". But it turns out that California has a law, the “Child Vlogger Bill of Rights”, that requires parents to put money into a trust fund for kids shown on social media for monetization purposes.

However, there is a loophole that if you dont show the kids faces, you are exempt from this law.

It's just another possible reason the children's faces are always hidden.

It is explained in this video starting at 15 min 41 sec mark, the video then goes on to explain how this influencer uses her faceless daughter in questionable photos to attract views from creeps on the internet, which also reminds me of how Lily is always being shown in nightgowns and barefeet.
