theres a queen i have seen before but cant think of her name. shes gorg, has amazing style, seems like a genuine person & speaks like a normal person with a brain. unlike most of these brainless bitches that speak as if everything they are saying is a fucking question or think shopping designer items & drinking a lot of alcohol make them cool. you cant own or wear cool & alcoholism isnt cute. most of them are vapid & vain except i dont know if they see themselves for what they are (chopped)

find this instagram post from March interesting, esp since eli stopped promoting prosehoes around the beginning of the year. she full on took this name, and if she didn't, she had a responsibility to change it sooner. even prosesociety is too close for my liking. she needs to scrap it altogether, but she won't because, surprise, it's not actually a bookclub or a podcast, but a leadup to promote her new novel IHERT, releasing march of 2027!

>Many of you know about Hoes For Prose, the Brooklyn-based literary community u/robster_dalobster and I created in March of 2024. We held poetry workshops, monthly bookclubs, created a zine to showcase our members (1.6k of you), film screenings, parties, book binding, and so much more. It was a small, vibrant community but it was ours. During the introduction to many of our events, Robby and I would talk about our friendship story: how we grew up as childhood piano partners in Northwest Arkansas and fell out of touch as teenagers only to reconnect in 2024 after learning he was working at a coffee shop around the corner from my Park Slope apartment - our story felt like the epitome of connection…so we wanted to channel it into fostering that same thing for others.

>After being in a months-long back and forth of trying to reclaim our account, u/meta recently disabled Hoes For Prose’s instagram. Which I can’t help but believe was the result of mega influencers such as u/eli.rallo’s u/prosehoesliterarysalon classically stealing from smaller brands. While this may seem trivial, it represented hours of work we built creating a beautiful and genuine community - one that i’ve been grieving for months.

>While we’ve been wrestling with how to move on or whether to ‘restart’ I thought at the least I wanted to honor a very small fraction of some of my favorite moments from the past year here with you.

>Growing Hoes For Prose was the most intensely rewarding experience of my life thus far. Witnessing strangers turn to friends, words on a page bud into human connection, and strangers show up time and time again to put themselves out there for the love of literature couldn’t be more demonstrative of the warmth we need in the world right now. We made a commitment to accessibility, committing to a donation-based model, because we strongly believed that whoever wants to connect over literature (in the worlds most expensive city) should be able to. Thank you to all of the wonderful human beings that helped us bring this community to life (you know exactly who you are) - you are the heartbeat of Hoes For Prose.
