Tips for avoiding long, grindy games

I'm a new-ish player who recently converted to playing 2H and I really like the added depth of two decks, but I feel like my games really drag out. By the end I tend to have a strong board state & high probability of winning, but I take LOTS of turns and by the final 1/4 of the game it doesn't feel like my turns are that meaningful--Im still playing cards but it's more "just in case" and not "I actually need this" (reminds me of the final 1/4 of a game of Civilization (pc game)). Absent a big mistake or terrible luck, it's just a bunch of math.

Pic is end state for Shadow of the Past. I drew thru the entire player deck of both decks and shuffled the encounter deck 2x. I kept my threat under control, but it just felt really sloggy. This is not an anomaly for me. Similar end state when testing these decks against Journey along the Anduin and Escape from Dol Goldur (beat it on my second try!)

I read somewhere that an average game lasts ~10 turns. I remember thinking "my god I must be doing something wrong"...

Curious if others have this experience and any advice for winning faster and avoiding a bloated late game state. Am I playing too conservative? Maybe the types of decks I'm playing (right now: hobbits, Gandalf+galadriel) tends to make for longer games?
