Hi All, after about 7 years working in the food science industry as a food engineer, I am wanting a change to something more fast paced and meaningful. Always loved medicine and physiology and enjoyed being a first responder through surf lifesaving so I’m thinking becoming a paramedic might be a good option.

How would you recommend gaining some insights into what the career is like before going to study? I had a look at volunteering on the QLD St John website but it looks more like non medical social outreach.

Hi All, we had our offer accepted on our first house about a month ago. Off market, first offer accepted and the sellers appeared keen to quickly get the house sold.

It’s a deceased estate belonging to their late elderly mother. Since then we have waited about a month for the transmission application to be registered.

Our conveyancer saw that it was lodged on the 3rd of last month but since then it still hasn’t registered. After the first week and a half the sellers requested a 14 day extension and now that is almost up and they will seek another extension.

Are we just unlucky or is there anyway that we could be getting taken advantage of somehow? Just seems abnormally long. For context the sellers are in NZ but the house is in QLD.

What is it like being part of a board riders club, what exactly do they do? Just moved countries and it’s all the rage here, and would be cool to meet other locals surfers but not suuuuper into the competition scene, I did some for a couple years though.
