before i start, this is a pretty popular tumblr blog so PLEASE don't send any hate if you recognize their post format.

basically, it's a blog dedicated to posting peoples' problems with their fandom, but they've posted multiple submissions like this that are just fakeclaiming people. don't entirely see how this is a fandom problem, but hey, whatever gets your blog attention I guess...

first of all, the otherkin thing. the way we see species in a non-scientific context is very subjective. if you truly believe an otherkin is human, i guess i can't change your mind, but don't just come out and say it especially since many otherkin have species dysphoria. it's just a dick move. if someone intentionally called me (a ghost headmate) "alive" on purpose, they're getting blocked.

second, everyone who has DID is faking but also they're taking away resources? if everyone with DID is faking, who exactly are they taking resources from? regardless, anyone who fakes a mental disorder is struggling in some way. no one healthy wants to pretend to be miserable. people with milder mental illnesses aren't taking away resources from people with more severe mental illness for seeking treatment or just existing.

"just because you have OCs/fictional characters (read: headmates) doesn't make you mentally ill" CORRECT! however, if you do have sentient beings (plural) in your head that does kinda make you a system. not necessarily a disordered one, but a system. either way, most non-disordered systems in my experience are mentally ill in other ways so you're basically fakeclaiming the mental disorders they actually have.

also, i'm assuming by "OCs" they mean brainmades, not OC fictives... so I guess systems that aren't entirely factives don't exist guys ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess i'm not real then/s

I HATE being against the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterization

Let me just say as an autistic person who’s been diagnosed since I was four that SELF DIAGNOSING IS VALID because not everyone has the same access to mental health resources.

I’ve never personally had to self diagnose with anything, (although I do suspect some conditions I’m not diagnosed with), so I’m not the best person to speak on this, but OOP is just contradicting themself. “This is about the people that self diagnose after experiencing the most normal day to day life things ever” and “SELF DIAGNOSING IS NOT VALID.” Like at one point they’re saying self diagnosing is valid sometimes and at another point they’re not? I’m confused.

Also note the sexism (“since it’s usually the basic bitches with no personality”). We really should have a sexism flair here, it’s way too common.
