Should I learn Cantonese?

FYI: I am an American who has no Chinese family but I have been immersed in many different cultures and I thought it was a cool language. As a kid, I had a Cantonese phrasebook but I lost it. Now I don’t know Cantonese (except for a few words and phrases). I also don’t see any use in learning it but hearing about how it’s starting to disappear makes me sad.

Was Tibet a brutal slave state before the Chinese invasion? (warning: descriptions of extreme graphic content)

I see a lot of accounts on Twitter that are saying that Tibet was a backwards feudal state where 90-95% of the people were slaves. This is a very common narrative with people who support the CCP but they are also saying that Tibetans made things out of dead bodies.
Obviously there is a bias but I don't know if these claims are exaggerated or not. Some people say that Tibet wasn't that way and that China is exaggerating but its hard to find information about this that isn't from pro-Chinese accounts. Ive also seen responses that say human sacrifice was only done on the fringes of Tibetan society and it was only done hundreds of years before Chinas invasion which kinda goes against the narrative.
