Shopping for a used Jeep and cane across this abomination
Two years ago I traded my little 2dr Wrangler for a new GMC Canyon for work reasons and I regretted it about 6 months later. Saturday I sold my Canyon back to a dealer with only a $2k loss and went and bought this unit for cash. Got a great deal on it. It's a basic no frills Unlimited Sport with roll up windows, 100k miles and a manual tranny which is exactly what I wanted. Finding one in this color with 150 miles of me was a bit tough but man what a pretty rig in the sun. I'm torn on keeping the stock wheels but for now she's pretty much ready to go other than changing out the old winch (steel cable & pretty small). I'm also going to swap out the 5" display for a larger android unit, new seat covers and that's about it I think. I was so excited to get my 1st wave on the ride home. Eventually I may swap out the gearing in the diffs as it's a little sluggish with stock 3.45. thinking about going to 4.56 or maybe even 4.88. anybody running either can give me some advice?
I've owned a Jeep before and was in the market for another as I miss the adventures a lot. I stumbled on a really nice 97 F150 short bed with a manual tranny (a must for me) that's in really good condition. 302 motor with 150k. I've always loved these trucks so now I'm torn between this or another Jeep. In my head I think a jeep is more capable but I've never 4 wheeled one of these trucks so Im just looking for some opinions from owners. I could use a pickup, as we know Jeeps aren't great at hauling so let me here from some Ford owners, any pictures for references of your rigs would be great too.
