2nd Opinion Needed! - 1990 Pathfinder

Hey folks, struggling a bit with the decision making process regarding a '90 Pathfinder on Craigslist. The wife and I are looking for something for me to wrench on and to get into some off road trouble with. We're quite keen on this one.

The Pros:

Exceptional interior & exterior
Mechanically mint
Very low mileage (86k kms)
One owner, grandma car, purchased locally
Long recorded service history
5-speed manual
All electronics functional

The Cons:

Rusty spots... but it's a 36 year old Japanese truck. My main concern is the flaking where the rear springs are (PIC 4)
Checked with a screwdriver - nowhere could be easily penetrated but some places were a little flakey. Overall the underside is cleaner than I expected but there are some problem points I'm worried about.

Rust repair in the drivers side rear door - possibly a pro? (PIC 6)

Original exhaust has rotted through and was replaced with some custom fab work. Doesn't look the greatest from the underside but is functional. Made sure to check for CO2 leaks. Doesn't seem like an issue. No ticking, no smell on the inside when running with the windows closed. Wouldn't surprise me if it needed more work in the future.

Hoping to get 5-10 years out of it. Please let me know if I'm worrying too much and this is to be expected or if these are serious concerns I should walk away from.

Willing to put some money and labor into it to keep it alive.

Thank you for your time.

Help me build my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Hey, I plan on taking my pathfinder strictly to the beach and I want to make it as CHEAP AS POSSIBLE. However I do not want a rig that’s going to get stuck on me.

got old man emu suspension kit for my toyota 4x4 and wondering about post install steps

i needed better ride height and handling for weekend tracks on my toyota so i ordered the old man emu suspension kit and it arrived quick with all the parts for a full upgrade.

what exact torque specs and alignment checks helped after you installed similar suspension on your rig to avoid any handling issues or uneven wear?

Faulty dtcm ruined by tires?

Hello, my aunt owns a 2021 jeep grand Cherokee limited 4x4. The other day she was telling me she saw a service 4wheel drive message on the dashboard. When I looked at it when she took it to the dealer service center and saw that it was stuck on 4wheel drive low but no service error. The mechanic called us back today and is claiming that the wheels were dry rotted and that it cause the dtcm malfunction. They are now quoting me 1300 to replace the dtcm and 1500 to replace all the wheels. I’m not super familiar with jeep repairs since I own a Nissan. Is it possible for the tires to cause the dtcm to fail? Or are they trying to just charge for extra stuff on top of the faulty module. The car has around 25k miles. Thanks in advance!

On the edge about bigger tires, what y’all think?

Currently on 31”s, I was thinking about 33”s but I don’t want to lose the travel clearance and I’d like to not viper cut anything

I need someone with some Nissan knowledge

Ironically I posted this thing about a week ago after I bought it, seemed perfect. Then the axle snapped, which I would never had expected.

Does anyone know what years and model specifically fit a 91’ XE-V6 Nissan pathfinder rear end?

I could easily look for the year but I want a broad range so I can look for an axle replacement if I can’t find a 91. Thank y’all!

Back on the trails. Just finished redoing my gears/lockers. Im a pretty shit mechanic and not even that good of a driver, but damn it feels good to have something you put together climb some rocks. The puppy didn't beleive in me it seems
