Move Winch Bumper

I had my bumper wrecked twice within two months last winter and reluctantly decided to install a weld it yourself bumper kit. I wasn’t too keen on doing this because I didn’t really have the time but I gave it my best shot; came in handy the other day when making firewood, I kinda like it.

Refinishing my Kevlar/ S-glass canoe

My 17’ Prospector is 18 years old now and unfortunately gets stored outside for the winter. I’m finally refinishing it with West System Epoxy resin, is it absolutely necessary to apply UV protection in the form of Spar Varnish, overtop of the epoxy resin? Some say a 2K PU is the best topcoat protection but I’ve been told by people that sell it that once it deteriorates it’s a real PITA to remove and refinish… thoughts? I talked to the Epifanes rep here in Canada and he recommended their Wood Finish Gloss because it’s easy to apply maintenance coats annually/ bi-annually.

So anyway, it was all free…

Hit a deer before Christmas and the insurance repaired the damage ( blew me away because the repair cost almost what I paid for the truck, it has high miles ). Then two weeks later my neighbour hit my truck and destroyed the new OEM bumper. She was driving her work truck so I asked her boss for a cash payout outside of insurance, and they agreed. Ordered a Move bumper kit, welded it up and finished it myself, winch was free ( I work at a place that sells winches and this EVO-12S was returned “ defective “ but only needed a new remote. Gift cert. from boss paid for the RIGID fog lights, everything else was covered by the payout. Now I have a winch bumper that I wouldn’t have dreamed of getting!

The 2012 is MOVE..in on up

Had my bumper wrecked twice this past winter and got a cash pay out the last time. Pulled the trigger on a move weld it yourself kit; I think it turned out ok, was a ton of work. I wanted to powder coat it but the budget wouldn’t allow so I used 2K epoxy paint… skid plate doesn’t fit as well now.

Winch bumper build.

Finally got the new bumper on the truck after throwing some aluminum color paint on it. I think it’s going to get some color match 2K paint instead though. Still have to mount the winch and throw the fog lights in but it’s coming along.

Putting together a new front bumper.

Had my front bumper wrecked twice this past winter, it’s getting old. Insurance covered the first one and someone’s employer paid out of pocket for the second. Still, I’m tired of broken bumpers, she’s getting a MOVE kit, doing all the work myself, painting with Endura, can I get y’all’s opinions on which brand of DOT / SAE fog lights I should get?
