RetroRemake had reacted to my posts and answered to my emails. They sent out a new unit using another shipping company, and this time my SuperStation One Founders Edition went through customs just fine and finally arrived today.
So, even though the support process took some time and was a bit, let's say sluggish - in the end everything was solved to my satisfaction.
