First egg retrieval

I just had my first egg retrieval yesterday. To give some background I had excision surgery for stage 4 endo last September, removing two endometriomas, one on each ovary. My AMH presurgery was 2.7 but when we measured it at 6 months post it was .47. I was devastated and the RE I saw at the clinic near us could only see 4 follicles on one ovary and the other was hidden by a cyst, but she did not take into account it was a few days after I had ovulated. We ended up doing IVF in Mexico City because our insurance doesn’t cover anything at all fertility related in the US.

At this clinic after being on BC for a month leading up to this appointment we saw 12 total follicles, 6 on each ovary and I was overjoyed! But at my 3rd appointment only 6 follicles were growing. And egg retrieval day we only got 4 eggs. I struggle going on the regular IVF Reddit thread because there are women getting a dozen or more eggs and being so disappointed with that outcome, and I got 4. But at the same time I’m trying to be happy with that outcome as my cycle wasn’t canceled and that is a win in itself. It’s still a chance. I’ve done everything I can for egg quality leading up to this for many months. The excision surgery removing all the endometriosis lesions the surgeon could see, all the supplements and trying to incorporate lots of healthy fats in my diet, etc.

But I just would love to hear success stories with low yield egg retrievals if possible right now while we wait for the embryo results.
