I’m starting my 2nd year of a 2 year postdoc and already am tired of being responsible to carry out my entire project.

At one point I was excited about an academic career but now I just feel like quitting and doing a boring/repetitive job.

There are other options I have by spinning out the project I’m working on in the lab but that also feels like too much work.

Is there anyone who has been through this and moved into a industry job? Did you feel any regrets at a later stage about sticking around a bit longer and making it in academia?

Also, is this a temporary phase since I’m kind of the owner of my own project? Maybe I start enjoying it as some point of time.
