Researching why some clothes work beautifully in theory but not in practice

I’m currently researching a fashion-tech product concept called Misfit focused on clothing fit, wardrobe behavior, and body typing systems.

One thing I’ve noticed is that people often struggle to explain why certain silhouettes, fabrics, or garments feel right on their bodies while others never quite work, even when they “should.”

I created a short survey with only 12 questions (around 2–3 minutes) to better understand people’s experiences with fit, styling systems, and clothing behavior before building further.

Would really appreciate input from people interested in fashion design, garment construction, styling, or fashion tech.

Trying to understand why clothing fit and style systems frustrate so many people

I’m currently researching a fashion related product idea and would love feedback from people interested in clothing, fit, and styling experiences.

One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people struggle with understanding why certain clothes “work” on them and others don’t, especially when trying body typing systems or online style advice. I’m exploring a concept around making that process feel more intuitive and less overwhelming.

I put together a short survey to better understand people’s frustrations, habits, and experiences around clothing fit and personal style systems.

Would be incredibly helpful if you could take a few minutes to fill it out:

Thanks so much, I’m genuinely trying to learn before building too much.
