I seem to have messed something up majorly during a repaste, advice wanted

Here’s all the info:
I did a thorough clean and repaste of my Lenovo legion slim 5 laptop. After closing it all up, my thermals were great, but a couple of hours later there was a sudden shutdown - the fans and case lights were still on, but peripherals were no longer connected, and nothing showed on the screen.
I powered it down by holding the power button. I turned it back on again. It was in the same state as when I turned it off.
I turned it off again, and right before it switched off, the peripherals came to life and then shut down again. I turned it on again, and it was fine - for several minutes, until the process repeated. Windows event manager only showed a kernel-power critical error, nothing else.
I booted into bios after going through the aforementioned cycle again, and after a few seconds of it showing, it looked like what you see in the picture. And about two minutes later it did the whole shutdown thing again.

It was late so I decided to continue in the morning, and curiously, while I was sleeping the fans and lights turned on and it looked like it was in sleep mode. When trying to boot it again today, it no longer boots into a usable state at all - so the issue got progressively worse with time..?

I should note that the shutdowns happened while running on dGPU-only mode as well as integrated graphics, and seem nothing to do with thermals as not only were my temps great, but it was fine with ~ an hour of intensive gaming yet shut down at the bios.
