I’m getting a decent engineering college, and i genuinely want to become a software engineer. But my father, who is a cop, constantly wants me to become an IAS officer. He keeps saying,"Complete B.Tech first, then prepare for UPSC."i ignore him everytime on this

Today we had an argument, and I ended up saying, Then why did you even let me prepare for JEE? I couldve chosen a field more suitable for UPSC preparation from the beginning.He replied that most IAS/IPS officers come from IITs and NITs and even gave examples of seniors who studied from Nit and later became officer.

But that’s exactly what’s bothering me. If the final goal is civil services anyway, then what’s the point of spending years learning coding, CSE, and engineering when my interest lies somewhere else entirely? I have no interest in UPSC or civil services,i want to work in mncs

Even after JEE and all , this new pressure has started. It feels like my own career choices and interests are being ignored, and his dream is being forced onto me.

I really don’t know how to explain this to my father without it turning into another argument. I just want him to understand that I respect his opinion, but I want to build my own career in software engineering, not in civil services.

I found these PT shoes at my store room and want to dye them so I can style and wear them casually. I don’t like the black color, so I’m thinking of dark brown. Any tips on how to do it? I have no idea about shoe dyeing.
