Grab bag network switch

Having had a number of instances where it would have been a big time-saver in the last for monthsm I'm looking for a small (4 port ideally, 8 at most) gig-e switch that can be powered from USB-C (uup to 100w supply available), supports POE and can do span for traffic sniffing. It's to be kept in a tool bag, so reasonable build quality a big plus.

Specific model suggestions much appreciated

Writing history out before starting (some specific) sub-shell command

Kubie and several other commands I use sometimes create a sub-shell when they're executed. I'd like to wrap such commands in an alias such that history gets flushed before they run, so that history is maintained. I'd also like the `kubie` command to appear int he history, so from my sub-shell history PoV it's like I'm still in the parent shell.

Ideally I'd like to write the child shell history on exit and read it back in the parent shell too, though that's a lower priority.

Can anybody give me any guidence / pointers please?

Much appreciated

Lightweight reproducible build

Let's say, not hypothetically, that I have a few golang based command line tools hosted on GitHub. I use goreleaser to release binary releases for convenience of myself and others.

My problem is that these aren't reproducing builds - the build chain isn't fully pinned.

Is there an existing tool to create a fully reproducible build? I'm fine if this requires a branch with extra pins or similar.

Looking for the name/brand of an airated concrete block

As a kid we had a self-build house. Lots of useful skills learnt over the years, a few horror stories.

One very distinct memory I have is of being given the leftovers and broken bits of some aerated concrete blocks. They were light grey, very light weight and soft enough to carve with a spoon by hand, even as a child. They had a fairly non-grainy texture.

I'm trying to find some now for a teen art project, and I'm struggling. These in B&Q are not the right ones - much harder, more dense and corse compared to the ones I want: https://www.diy.com/departments/toplite-aerated-concrete-block-l-440mm-w-100mm-h-215mm/645667_BQ.prd?storeId=1076

Any pointers appreciated, I'm uk based if that makes a difference

Thanks in advance!

I had 11 hours of driving to do over the May Day weekend in the UK (I realise that's possibly entirely normal for some US folks, but it's rare for non-commercial drivers here, and especially rare for me since I live in London and 95% of my travel is public transport) so I finally dug out Yumi & the Nightmare Painter audio book to keep me sane. This morning this video hit my dash. I don't see it posted here in the few months I've scanned...
