Turning True Cat 9x4 into Graf 703 (thoughts?)

Turning True Cat 9x4 into Graf 703 (thoughts?)

Going to try to heat mold a pair of True Catalyst Catalyst 9x4’s “into” Graf 703s. I heated molded them once and the mid foot/toe box fits like a glove. Toes just feathering the end. However my heel still “lifts” out. Strangely my heel fit better before the mold. I even did the plastic wrap during the first mold. I contacted true and they suggested using clamps on the heel. I also found this video from them a few years back.

Wanted to just check with the community before I do it if there’s anything I need to thinks about/consider. Don’t want to break/ruin the skates/Give myself the best chance at getting it right!

I guess you could say this is an attempt to get a true custom fit without paying the custom price. Is it legal?!!? lol (please don’t be mad at me if any true reps are reading this)

Lace Bite? Fit ratio

So I’m trying to buy new skates. Used both the CCM and True at home scanners. Despite different measurements they both seem to indicate that I have a “fit 2” in CCM ratio.

However I’ve got very thin heels. I’ve tried fit 2 and 1 in the JetSpeed FT6 pros and like the heel locked better in the tapered/fit 1. The problem is I don’t pass the pencil test with flying colors. Even after baking them. It’s not a horrible fail, but it’s not a clear pass like when I’m wearing fit 2/normal ft6 pros.

What I’m hoping is after playing a bit the foam will pack down a bit and my foot will “sink” into passing the test, especially since the FT6 pros are so fluffy.

Given my ratios of 2.68 and 2.75 for each foot and the attached pictures do you think I’ll regret using fit 1?
