I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Bauer Prosharp.

I am pretty picky with my sharpening and going to the shop I trust is about a 2 hour activity for me at the moment, and even then they're not perfect every time. I am just looking for consistency and convenience.

I was given a large gift card from my work to Sportchek. There is nothing I particularly want from there but I do notice they carry the Bauer Prosharp (unfortunately not the Sparx).

With the gift card, I can get the Bauer Prosharp, a wheel, and the edge checker for $1100 CAD after tax. I think most Sparx bundles will run at least $1500 CAD.

My assumption is that for the price, there is no reason not to get the Prosharp, but wondering if others have experience with this machine.

I am using a set of Bauer X5 pads and blocker with a CCM eFlex 7.5 catcher.

I absolutely love the 580 break but protection could be a bit better.

I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new Bauer Vapor 90 with Hyperlite 2 graphics (so matches the X5s) for $399 CAD, which puts it in the price range of an eFlex 7.9 ($379) and the new SV Pro 90 ($399).

The pro eFlex 7 at $600+ is out of my price range.

Was just wondering if this is a no brainer vs the eFlex 7.9. Only reason I am hesitant is how much I like the 7.5 so might consider sticking to CCM.
