weird dairy smell in vintage pyrex bowls

hi! i have a vintage set of pyrex mixing bowls from the 70s…and sometimes after baking (and then cleaning) they smell strongly of…old dairy? it’s hard to explain but it def smells a lot like milk. in a bad way.

it doesn’t happen every time i cook and then clean the bowls. and it doesn’t even have to have touched dairy to have the smell pop up (this evening i mixed meatballs in one of my bowls). the smell happens after washing…regardless of what dish soap i use.

i’m sensitive to smell and it really bothers me. once it happens no amount of cleaning or varying soaps will make the smell go away. at some point the smell dissipates.

i thought a reddit search would help but so far it seems this is a novel issue.

ideas? tips? is it a sign the bowls aren’t safe to cook with? help!

favorite broom????

i live in a 2 unit apartment bldg from 1911, with parquet floors and tile that needs redone.

what are your indoor broom recommendations? we have a stick vacuum but sometimes you just need a broom.

other subs have best broom discussions, but they are clearly sweeping smooth vinyl floors and sealed tile.

i need advice from people who get it…

you never truly finish sweeping, you just decide to
stop. the dirt in the cracks and in the corners is never ending.
