Criticism of Amanda ≠ Bullying

I genuinely think Amanda Batula is being coddled right now. She is not being “piled on” — people are reacting to behavior we all watched play out on the show and apparently after continuing into the reunion.

What’s frustrating is that she still doesn’t seem genuinely remorseful. Most of her comments about the situation lately revolve around her mental health and how hard the internet has been on her. Kyle & West's statements also kind of echo this. Even in her & West's IG statement - she never addressed or apologized to Ciara directly. She seems incapable of not putting herself at the center.

Then at the reunion using Ciara’s own “you can't help who you love” argument to justify her own behavior. Meanwhile Kyle is still protecting her and we're watching Amanda crying that she was "all in" when we watched her belittle Kyle and diminish their relationship all summer.

One appearance where she looked thinner on the In the City premiere suddenly has everyone treating her with kid gloves and acting like any criticism is bullying. Criticism of her actions & behaviors playing out is not the same thing as harassment in my opinion. I feel like the only reason it even feels like a “pile on” is because viewers are responding to episodes in real time as they air.
