Campaign stopped performing after adding new keywords

Hey everyone,

My campaign was doing pretty well, so I decided to add a few new keywords to reach more people. After making those changes, performance dropped and conversions became much lower than before. Could adding new keywords really affect the whole campaign this much?

Google Ads is spending my budget but barely generating leads. What am I missing?

I have been running Google Ads for about a month and a half for my local business.

The ads are getting clicks, so people are definitely seeing them and visiting my website. But the problem is that hardly anyone is actually contacting me.

I have spent around $1,200 so far and only got a handful of inquiries. A few were spam, and some were not even looking for the service I offer.

I have already tried changing keywords, adding negative keywords, and tweaking my ads, but nothing seems to make a big difference.

Now I am wondering if the issue is my website, targeting, or if this is just part of the process when starting out.

If you have been in a similar situation, what solved the problem? What was the biggest thing that helped improve your lead quality?
