How often does ModRetro announce and release new games?

Hi everyone. I finally got my replacement Chromatic in the mail the other day (customer service was amazing btw), and let me be honest: these past couple days have left me feeling like a kid in the late 90s again! The Gameboy Color was my first console as a kid and while I love all of the advancements gaming/technology has made between then and now, there is something oddly comforting about buying a completely offline portable console that requires you to commit yourself to just a few self-contained experiences (been jumping between Link's Awakening and Pokemon Prism atm) rather than always trying to navigate between the vastness of my Steam/Switch backlogs or doom scrolling on my phone during my free time.

Anyways, since I'm new to the scene, I was wondering how often ModRetro announces/releases games on the Chromatic? I picked up a handful of their games on their website and few others on Incube8 (super excited to try Dragonyhm and Infinity since I'm a big JRPG guy), but I was curious how often new games get released through ModRetro's website. Is it something like a new release every 3 months, a batch each quarter of the year, or is it just random drops throughout the year?

And when Modretro does decide to release games, how do they get announced? Is it shadow drop thing or is revealed on their social media pages a few weeks ahead of time?

Thanks in advance! I'm excited to finally be part of the community and experience this little renaissance of Game Boy games. Looking forward to seeing what comes next, and hopefully, not spending too much money on cartridges.

Has anyone else had any overheating problems with their Consoles? (Brand New Unit)

UPDATE: I ended up reaching out to customer support and they told me to ship it back to them and they'd send me a new unit once they get it back. Hoping the next one won't have the same issue!

Hi everyone! Finally bit the bullet and decided to get a Midnight Chromatic the other day to replay some of my childhood classics + try some newer games. However, after updating the console on my computer like the packaging instructed, I noticed the unit was getting warm on the back. When I opened the console, I noticed the top battery was extremely hot while the other two where simply just warm. I assumed it was a problem with the batteries that came with it and decided to try a different set I had at home.

After playing Tetris for a little over 5 minutes, I had the same problem and after opening it up and removing the batteries, noticed that it got so hot, that it started peeling the sticker on the batteries. I have since put the console back in the box and have sent customer support an email hoping to figure out some way to get it fixed or get sent a replacement unit since it feels like that I might have just gotten unlucky with my unit.

Has anyone else had any overheating or battery issues with their Chromatic? I tried looking for similar threads, but didn't really find one that matched the problem I described. I'm hoping I get this resolved quick since I've been really excited to get back into my retro collection!
