I felted this wool blend, didn't I?
Photos:
- Screenshot from a video I took demonstrating its structure a bit; this was pre-wash
- The full meter post-wash
- Close up post-wash
- Thickness of fabric post-wash (notably thicker than before)
Please help because I'm really sad.
Recently got back from Japan and picked up this beautiful, lightweight, soft 71% wool, 29% nylon blend. I only got a meter of it because it was expensive.
Well, I forgot it was wool and stuck it in the wash with regular detergent at 40 degrees Celsius (spin drain only, no dryer) and it came out noticeably thicker, harder, and less stretchy. It's felted, aka ruined, right? Is there anything I can do to save it?
Edit: Thank you for the speedy replies everyone! Seems I have felted it, sigh. I'll take a look at some of the alternate ideas some of you proposed and hopefully get inspired :)
