Next Friday for external transfers then!
UT edged us hard this week
UT edged us hard this week
Hi! I'm a public health student transferring from Texas A&M University with 41 completed hours (8 AP and 4 dual credit) and I have been doubting myself on getting in recently! A few things about me:
- 3.91 GPA but 4.0 GPA for all stem! (calc I, calc II, chem I, chem II, stats, bio I, maybe psychology counts?)
- 2 honors public health courses
- honors public health research!
- created a public health documentary, faculty led project by my honors professors with 2 usphs officers
- in an honors society for public health (selective) and in the honors college of public health at tamu!
-medical assistant + bls certified (won first place medical assisting HOSA like last yr but idk if that even counts)
- some scattered health related volunteering hours, limited because 30 hr/week job at fast food
- LOR by honors public health professor that i have a close relationship with
- studied abroad for public health!
- i think i have a good essay? about specifically environmental public health since im interested in that a lot
i don't knoww competition is tough and im scared that public health will be too hard to get into! it's okay if i dont but the wait is so so brutal especially with the first wave of admits
I had a 4.0 last semester and I tried to maintain it this semester, but unfortunately got a B in my government class! The professor never posted any slideshow notes and it was an 8 A.M., and despite studying for hours the exams were incredibly difficult and made up 85% of the grade. I did feel upset, but I was wondering if it would affect my transfer application poorly because I know that even people with 4.0s get rejected often!
I have an A in stats, chem I, chem II, bio I, 2 public health honors courses, psychology, calc I, and calc II! I'm also in two public health honors programs and I'm transferring from Texas A&M University with 40 credit hours (including this semester).
I also have some volunteering, a research project, my public health documentary project, and 30 hours of work per week at a fast food place. I really don't mind if I don't make it because it's unrealistic to expect an acceptance, but I just wanted to know if I should just forget about the application as a whole and just find housing now in my current university (if the chances are that slim). Thank you!
