I love the VHS filter when paused, I also think I’d be funny to have the old “DVD” screensaver that bounces around and never quite hits the corner. I dunno if that’d be a copyright issue, but maybe we could hook in a custom video when paused? This isn’t useful, just fun.
I’d love to see the jogwheel scrubbing work where you scrub through the show by rolling your finger around the rim of the circle on the controller.
While on guide it’d be cool if you could recognize the “jog wheel” gesture on the remote and show a number pad for direct channel input (if its something apple exposes, it may just be for their own video players). Otherwise it could be a button reached after hitting the back button.
While playing a video, a number pad to the right of the”Channel Surf” while playing a show would work well.
Also might be cool to implement a remote control app for iphone.
When on the guide, i want the back button to put a border around the now playing preview so i can navigate to settings at the top of the interface more easily with the option to quickly jump back into my show with the press of a follow up select. Its currently cumbersome ro get to settings. I also want a back button nag screen (probably should be an option) for leaving the app.
I’d like ad breaks in the middle of tv shows as an option. You could even have a button in the UI for “add commercial”. You could then remember where it was placed. You could maybe even crowd source the info and store it somewhere (I don’t know if a database that hold ad break locations).
One of the things I’d like to do is add in my own recorded tv library.. the problem is that it exists on my NAS Andy normal libraries I like from my other server (because transcoding). So I’d need multiple servers at once to be supported.
I’m a bit worried with Plex’s future. I have lifetime, but if I buy a lifetime for this app I want to know if there are plans to look at also adding in jellyfin support at some point.
