When Did Your Twins Start Noticing Each Other?

Ours aren’t even three months old and they’re starting to stare at each other! No smiling at each other or conscious interacting with each other yet, but it got me thinking — when can I expect that to happen? What was everyone’s experience like? :)

6 Week Old Twins with NO DAY NAPS - Things are Crazy Hard - How to Pump??

So our twins are 6 weeks old, and from calm, sleepy babies, they turned into alert newborns who cannot day nap at all. We combo-feed them, which requires me to pump, but there is literally zero time in the day to do that?

They don't take any naps anymore. Okay, maybe they do in the morning, but the afternoon is a total no-go. We try white noise, a dark room, following yawning cues... nothing is working. They get fussy when put down which gradually turns into crying. Sometimes they get fussy also while carried.

They don't have belly pain or anything like that. They do, however, eat A LOT — 900 ml a day, which is way above the recommended range — but what can I do if they always want to eat??

The doctor did not seem concerned about the amount of food they eat, and they are also growing well. How on earth am I supposed to find time and space to eat, pump, and/or clean? Both me and my husband are on maternity leave for 6 months, so we are always two of us here... but it seems impossible to figure this out. Unfortunately we don't have any family nearby so no way they can help us.

Is it just some growth spurt, or is it gonna stay this bad??

Please, please share anything. I have cried three times today already.

Thinking of Only Pumping and Formula Feeding

Mom of 3-week-old twins here 👧🏻👧🏻
I’ve been triple feeding since they were born, but in reality I’m mostly pumping and formula feeding, with maybe one breastfeeding session per twin each day.
It’s been incredibly hard. Between pumping, feeding, washing bottles and pump parts, and trying to keep up with everything else, I feel like I don’t have enough time or energy to actually nurse them enough for them to improve their latch. At the same time, I can’t really imagine exclusively breastfeeding twins either—it just feels like too much.
I really want them to get the benefits of breast milk, so I’m thinking about exclusively pumping and supplementing with formula. Right now I only produce enough milk for about half of what they eat anyway.
I know this is probably irrational, but part of me feels like I’m failing by giving up on breastfeeding just because it’s so hard.
Does anyone here exclusively pump and formula feed? How has it worked for you? Any tips for maintaining a good milk supply while exclusively pumping?
Thanks. 🙏

Almost there.. Feeling Scared

Hi all, I am 35+6 with di di girls today, we only have about one to two weeks left until my planned C-section, my BP is slowly creeping up though so it might be less than two weeks in the end.

I am pregnant for the first time and with two babies (yay but also aaaaa scary) so I feel tremendous fear about how I am gonna be able to look after them.

I mean super practical things like holding them, moving them without dropping them, feeding them.. it all feels impossible, like they will be somehow too fragile or I will be too clumsy. I attended some courses but it still feels scary to me.

My husband is going to stay at home with me for 6 months (I know I am blessed with this being an option in the country where we live) so that will be a huge help, but I am freaking out anyway.

Did any of you feel the same way before birth? Did it get better?

I cannot help but wonder if I am capable of even bonding with them after birth without harming them somehow accidentally.

Is this kind of fear common?

Sorry if its a bit all over the place, the closer we get the more scared I get. Of course I am mostly hoping they are born healthy and with no NICU time, but still!

Appreciate any kind words or experience :)
